Triply Cookware Sets for Indian Families
Choose a set by the vessels you will use, rather than the headline number of pieces. Count pans and lids separately. Then compare the set with the cookware you already own and the dishes you prepare at the same time. A set can duplicate an existing pan while still leaving another routine task uncovered.

SSET1 | 2.5 litres with glass lid — Reader check: Check the batch and manufacturer fill guidance; nominal capacity is not a portion count | 26 cm — Reader check: Check usable surface and stove fit separately from nominal diameter | 26 cm — Reader check: Check bread size, base and storage footprint |
SSET2 | 1.5 litres with glass lid — Reader check: Check the batch and manufacturer fill guidance; nominal capacity is not a portion count | 22 cm — Reader check: Check usable surface and stove fit separately from nominal diameter | 22 cm — Reader check: Check bread size, base and storage footprint |
The comparison below uses documented Hawkins and OmiChef inventories. We have not tested cooking performance, loaded handling or cleaning. Conflicting lid descriptions and missing measurements prevent a ranked recommendation.

Make a vessel and meal worksheet
Record each routine dish, batch and vessel you use. Note which dishes overlap in time and which need a lid simultaneously. Assign a proposed set vessel to each task only after its shape, usable capacity, stove fit and instructions are established. Nominal litres do not establish a universal family size.
Add an existing-cookware column. Mark whether a proposed piece replaces an unsuitable vessel, adds a needed size or duplicates something that already works. Compare a smaller set or individual purchases when the bundle adds unused pieces. No automatic savings claim follows from buying a set.
Work through one meal before buying
Consider a household that already owns a suitable tava and prepares rotis alongside two dishes that need covering at the same time. This is an illustrative planning exercise, not a cooking test or a claim about a particular family's required capacity.
| Meal requirement | Check against the proposed set | Purchase implication |
|---|---|---|
| Make rotis | Existing tava already covers the task | A bundled tava may duplicate a useful vessel |
| Cover two dishes simultaneously | Count confirmed compatible lids separately | One lid cannot cover both dishes at the same time |
| Fit two cooking vessels on the stove | Check each base and handle clearance together | Individual fit does not establish simultaneous fit |
| Store the additions | Check vessel and lid footprints against available space | Carton dimensions cannot establish cupboard fit |
For this household, the Hawkins bundles add a tava that may be unnecessary. The OmiChef PH24 inventory instead includes a wok, but its single documented lid still needs a compatibility check and may leave the second covered dish without a lid. Compare the missing pieces individually with the full bundle, using current like-for-like prices and confirmed contents. This exercise identifies duplication and missing coverage; it does not establish which purchase costs less.
Conditional lead: Hawkins SSET1
The official Hawkins set table identifies SSET1 and lists three items. The official store listing names its components SSD25G, SSF26 and SSTV26. This gives a model inventory to verify, rather than relying on a generic three-piece description.
Consider this set when a deep kadhai, frying pan and tava correspond to gaps in your meal worksheet. Choose another combination if those forms duplicate existing cookware or leave an essential task uncovered. Each component still needs its own capacity, footprint, construction and care checks.
The current manufacturer inventory image specifies a 2.5-litre deep-fry pan with glass lid, a 26 cm frying pan and a 26 cm tava. This current inventory resolves the earlier frying-pan size ambiguity for the manufacturer set. The matching Amazon title identifies SSET1 with glass lid, but one bullet says stainless steel lid. The manufacturer shop repeats the stainless-steel-lid wording despite naming SSD25G. Exact supplied package and shared-lid fit remain unresolved.
The table's weight is product-in-carton and its dimensions are carton measurements. They are excluded from bare-pan handling and kitchen storage comparisons. No complete-kitchen, durability, cooking-performance or price-saving promise is made.
Held lead: Hawkins SSET2
The manufacturer's SSET2 inventory image identifies one 1.5-litre deep-fry pan with glass lid, one 22 cm frying pan and one 22 cm tava. These are three cooking vessels, with the lid described alongside the deep-fry pan. This gives a size inventory; it does not establish exact component codes, usable cooking area or handle-inclusive storage space.
The matching Amazon listing identifies SSET2 and agrees on those vessel sizes and a glass lid in its title and detailed description. However, one summary bullet says stainless steel lid. Keep the package on hold until that discrepancy and the supplied instructions are resolved. Do not assume that the lid fits the frying pan or borrow SSET1's lid correspondence.
Use this inventory in the meal worksheet: assign separate overlapping tasks to the frying pan, tava and deep-fry pan only after fit and capacity checks. If an existing vessel already covers one task, compare individual purchases before choosing the bundle. Package measurements cannot establish individual-pan fit.
Compare the documented Hawkins inventories
Hawkins’ family manual gives an additional bread-size check: its 22 cm tava guidance mentions 16 cm or 18 cm roti/paratha, while its 26 cm guidance also includes 20 cm. Treat these as manufacturer cooking guidance, rather than measured usable surface or a guarantee of results. Compare the bread you usually make before paying for a larger bundle.
These are manufacturer inventory figures, not measured performance results. Choose which sizes to consider from the meal worksheet and existing cookware. A larger nominal size alone does not establish better heating, easier handling or better value. Both Amazon listings contain the same lid-material discrepancy, so neither set receives a purchase recommendation yet.
Conditional lead: OmiChef Kadai, Frypan and Wok OWH set
The official product page names an OWH set. Its size section lists a 22 cm, 2.35-litre kadai; a 1.4-litre frypan; a 22 cm, 2.35-litre wok; and a 22 cm stainless-steel lid. Frypan diameter, exact SKU, lid quantity and lid-to-vessel assignment remain unresolved.
Consider this combination if the documented vessel forms correspond to separate routine tasks. Choose another combination if the kadai and wok duplicate what you already own, or if the unresolved lid arrangement cannot meet simultaneous cooking needs. OWH is kept separate from the HCH variant.
The page specifies first-use washing with mild dishwashing liquid, low-to-medium heat, avoiding prolonged empty heating, cooling before washing, a soft scrubber and thorough drying. It lists dishwasher permission without rack, temperature or separate lid directions. Exact supplied instructions still need confirmation. No safety, chemical-free, rust-resistant or uniform-performance assertion is adopted as an independent finding.
Separate lead: OmiChef pipe-handle 24 cm set
The selected manufacturer 24 cm PH variant documents one kadai, one frying pan, one wok and one stainless-steel lid, with pipe handles. Its listed construction is an SS304 inner layer, aluminium core and SS430 outer layer. The reviewed size section does not state individual litre capacities; values from Amazon search titles are not treated as manufacturer specifications.
The single documented lid creates a useful meal-planning check. If two dishes need covering simultaneously, first establish lid compatibility and whether a separate lid is needed. Do not assume that one supplied lid can cover several vessels at once or that it fits each vessel.
The care disclosure calls for first-use washing with mild dishwashing liquid, low-to-medium cooking heat, avoiding prolonged empty heating, cooling before washing, a soft scrubber and thorough drying. The inspected Amazon PH24 listing identifies ASIN B0GNRJ1JPP, but the manufacturer SKU correspondence remains unresolved. Confirm the exact supplied directions, stove footprint and warranty terms before choosing it. Keep this PH set separate from the smaller OWH inventory.
Check fit and care for every vessel
Record base dimensions and your stove's cookware requirements separately from the top diameter. Record handle-inclusive storage footprint and lid space. A set label does not establish that all pieces fit every burner or induction zone.
Check construction scope, handles, lid materials and permitted cleaning for each exact component. Keep manufacturers' instructions separate. A shared material description does not justify transferring another set's dishwasher or oven permission. India warranty and replacement lids need their own evidence.
The Hawkins Tri-Ply family manual requires cooling before washing and hand washing rather than dishwasher use. Its glass-lid directions also prohibit oven and broiler use. Its routine cleaning section specifies a non-abrasive, chlorine-free cleaner and a cloth, sponge or plastic scrubber; dry thoroughly and do not soak wooden handles, knobs or the spatula. A separate stubborn-stain procedure carries scratch risk and is not routine cleaning advice. Exact supplied component manuals still need checking. The family burner and preheating tables name 20 cm and 24 cm frying pans, whereas these sets contain 22 cm and 26 cm pans; do not interpolate a time or wattage for those sizes. Do not transfer OmiChef's dishwasher permission to Hawkins.
Make the final inventory check
Choose a bundle only when each vessel fills a useful role, the confirmed lids cover your overlapping tasks, and the individual pans fit your stove and storage. The Hawkins inventories offer a tava, frying pan and deep-fry pan in two documented size combinations. The OmiChef inventories offer a kadai, frying pan and wok; keep the OWH and PH variants separate when comparing dimensions and contents.
The Hawkins lid-material discrepancies and OmiChef component uncertainties still matter to that decision. Obtain confirmation for the exact package instead of assuming that a product title resolves a contradictory description. If the bundle duplicates cookware you use or leaves a necessary lid or vessel missing, compare the individual pieces you actually need before purchasing.
