Air Fryers for Two-Person Indian Households: Basket and Batch Checks
Choose an air fryer for two people by the food you normally cook, the permitted load and the usable basket layout. A nominal litre figure does not establish that two portions fit in the arrangement required by the recipe. Counter clearance, controls and cleaning also affect whether the appliance suits your routine.

Product comparison at a glance
| Product | Maker-described capacity | Controls or power | Decision still needing evidence |
|---|---|---|---|
Philips NA120/00 | Heading 4.2 L; specifications 4.1 L | Timer and temperature knobs; specification lists 1501 W | Capacity discrepancy and recipe-specific usable load |
Borosil Best 2.8 L, BAF01 | Nominal 2.8 L | 1200 W; 230 V, 50 Hz | Internal basket floor; indicative manual recipe weights now reviewed |
Inalsa Compact | Nominal 2.4 L food basket | 1000 W; timer and temperature knobs | Basket dimensions, permitted loads and installation requirements |
This research guide compares Philips NA120/00, Borosil Best 2.8 L and Inalsa Compact. We have not cooked food in these machines or measured crispness, evenness, speed, noise or energy use. Basket floor dimensions, complete recipe coverage and exact current offers remain unresolved, so these are candidates for investigation rather than approved purchase recommendations.

Start with a typical meal
List the foods you want to prepare and the amount needed for both people. A snack, a vegetable side and the main part of dinner are different capacity questions. Record whether the applicable recipe requires spacing, a particular arrangement or turning during cooking. Do not assume that food piled into the nominal container will produce the desired result.
If a meal has two components with different settings, include both in your planning. One basket does not establish that they can cook together. Separate batches may change when each component is ready. The planning exercise should use verified recipe guidance rather than guessed cooking times.
If your main use is reheating or occasional snacks, assess that routine instead of buying around an imagined full dinner. This guide does not claim that any one size serves every two-person household.
Compare the documented candidates
The specifications come from the Philips NA120/00 page, Borosil Best 2.8 L page and Inalsa Compact page. They do not establish portion counts or cooking superiority.
Philips NA120/00: resolve capacity and check the actual layout
The reviewed page identifies analogue controls and a stated 80–200°C adjustment range, with a timer up to 60 minutes. Those control limits are not cooking instructions for a specific food. The page also lists a food-capacity figure, but this comparison has not established its recipe scope and does not apply it universally.
The heading and specification table disagree on nominal litres. Confirm the current supplied model and applicable documentation before relying on that number. More useful for a two-person decision would be verified internal basket dimensions and the permitted arrangement for your chosen food.
The page lists product dimensions separately from packaging. That distinction helps begin a counter-space check, but the closed appliance size does not establish drawer-opening space or the required ventilation clearance.
Borosil Best 2.8 L: assess the smaller container and care routine
Borosil documents nominal capacity, electrical rating and product dimensions. Consider whether the smaller advertised container fits your actual load rather than assume it is suitable because there are only two people at home.
The exact BAF01 manual gives indicative loads of 300–400 g for fresh or frozen fries and 400 g for samosas, with shaking for those entries. Ingredients vary, so these examples do not establish portions for two people. It permits accessory washing in hot soapy water or a dishwasher after unplugging and cooling, while prohibiting housing immersion. Its placement wording conflicts between 12 cm clearance on all sides and the rear against a wall; obtain clarification before a tight installation. BAF01 manual.
The product code BAF01 matters when checking offers and replacements. Other Borosil capacities and digital models are separate candidates; a similar name does not establish identical parts or operating instructions.
Inalsa Compact: verify the name beyond compactness marketing
Inalsa lists a 2.4 L food basket, knob controls and a 1000 W power figure. It also describes automatic switching off when the pot is removed. That feature claim does not establish cooking quality or authorize unattended use.
The model’s name and general family-size marketing do not supply a two-person food-layout measurement. Obtain the exact basket dimensions and applicable instructions before deciding. A lower power figure is also insufficient evidence that the machine uses less electricity for your meal; cooking duration and actual operation have not been measured here.
Compare usable area with nominal volume
When a recipe specifies separated pieces, floor layout becomes a different question from container height. Ask for internal dimensions and check the intended food arrangement against manufacturer guidance. Do not derive floor area from litres or the exterior housing.
For a hypothetical meal needing two portions of paneer pieces and a vegetable side, write down both ingredient quantities and their separate preparation requirements. Determine whether each verified load fits, whether they may be cooked together and whether another batch is required. This example is a purchasing worksheet, not a tested recipe for these appliances.
Keep unresolved entries visible. A claimed family capacity or an attractive food photograph cannot replace those answers.
Check the counter and cleanup workflow
Measure space for the appliance, the drawer when opened and the clearances required by its manual. Also consider a suitable place to handle removable hot components. A machine that fits with its drawer closed may still interfere with normal kitchen use.
Review the care instructions for the basket, pan, tray and housing individually. Include cooling, washing, drying and storage in the ownership routine. We have not timed cleanup or compared coating durability. Do not infer a coating’s composition, service life or cleaning permission from its appearance.
Before buying
Confirm the full model code, exact contents, India electrical rating, seller, warranty terms and delivery to your PIN. Obtain replacement-part compatibility and the complete operating manual. The purchase should be based on verified recipe loads and practical fit, not a guessed conversion from litres to people.
No best-performing air fryer is established here. Philips merits investigation for its documented analogue arrangement and larger advertised container, while Borosil and Inalsa merit investigation where their smaller nominal baskets meet your verified needs. Current offer availability and any unresolved model-specific checks should be confirmed before purchase.
This guide uses manufacturer information and excludes unverified health, oil-reduction, speed and electricity-saving percentages. It makes no claim that the compared appliances produced a tested meal result.
